The Quantum Computer Science School is a weeklong series of lectures and academic activities for undergraduate students from Tsinghua University and universities in Australia, between 22 to 25 January 2018.
The lectures of this school will focus on topics from quantum information and quantum computation, and the lecturers are renowned experts in the relevant field. This school combines academic learning, problem solving, and cultural exchange.
This school is co-organized by the Centre for Quantum Software and Information, the University of Technology Sydney, and the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences, Tsinghua University.
Call for participation
Updated on 1 Jan 2018: The number of applicants has reached our limit, so we have to close the registration. Sorry about that!
Senior undergraduate and graduates across Asia and Australia are welcome to participate in this school. While there is no registration fee, registration is mandatory, and interested students please send their names and affiliation via email to Youming.Qiao@uts.edu.au, with the email title as “register for QCSS 2018”. Note that, due to limited budget we will not be able to provide support for the travel related to this school.
The programme consists of exciting topics that are mainly from quantum information and quantum computation. While they are not usually covered in undergraduate courses in computer science and electrical engineering, but are nevertheless accessible to talented students without much preparation.
No background beyond basic mathematics (linear algebra, calculus, discrete mathematics) will be assumed, although some familiarity with algorithms and quantum information is usually helpful.
