Foreword

"Current Trends in Algorithms, Complexity Theory, and Cryptography" is a joint workshop of Tsinghua University, China, and University of Aarhus, Denmark. It takes place at the Institute of Theoretical Computer Science, Tsinghua University, Beijing, during March 22-27, 2009.

Most of the participants are theoretical computer scientists from two prominent academic institutes on different continents: ITCS, Tsinghua University, Beijing, and Computer Science Department, Aarhus University, Denmark. We have also invited professors from University of Sydney and the Chinese University of Hong Kong to present their latest research findings. The aim of the workshop is to present and discuss current trends in the exciting research area of algorithms, complexity, and cryptography, and to promote international exchange and collaborations especially between researchers and students in ITCS, Tsinghua University and Aarhus University.

We thank all the participants for accepting our invitation, and wish them all a most fruitful and enjoyable experience at ITCS and in Beijing. We also would like to thank the funding agencies for their generous support of this symposium.
