Tour Information
Two choices of one-day tours will be offered to the conference participants:
- Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace
- Great Wall and Ming Tombs
The choice will be made at the registration (Apr 16) of the conference. The fee for tour is seperate from the registration fee of the conference and will be charged at the conference registration, too. And the fee is 280RMB (approx. 37 USD) for each route.
Remarks: if you want to stay longer, please be careful of the May 1st Holiday. There will be a busy vacationing crowd in China that time.
First Option: Tiananmen - Forbidden City - etc.
A full day excursion to the Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, and the Palace Museum, known as the Forbidden City, the complex of imperial palaces are home to the emperors for over 500 years in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Some of the grand halls have been used as museums for fine collections of Chinese treasures. After Lunch you will be driven to visit the Temple of Heaven, where the Ming and Qing emperors prayed for good harvest. It is the largest temple complex remaining in China today, and then visit the Summer Palace, a former summer resort for the royal family.
Second Option: Great Wall - Ming Tomb
A full day excursion to the Great Wall -- the landmark of China. It is one of the most amazing feats of human labor. After lunch, a drive to the Ming Tomb along the Sacred Way with giant marble figures and animals guarding the tomb area for deceased emperors of the Ming Dynasty 1368-1644.
